Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our coffee, sourcing, and commitment to quality.

Is your coffee roasted fresh?

Yes. We roast to order to ensure your coffee is delivered at peak freshness—not pulled from a warehouse shelf.

Fresh coffee makes a difference in clarity, sweetness, and overall smoothness.

What does "specialty-grade" mean?

Specialty-grade coffee scores 80+ on the Specialty Coffee Association scale and is evaluated for quality, balance, and complexity.

We select coffees that meet premium specialty standards—because your daily cup deserves more than commodity-grade beans.

Why does your coffee taste smoother than most store brands?

Mass-produced coffee is often roasted darker to mask inconsistencies in lower-grade beans.

We develop roast profiles to highlight natural sweetness and structure—not bitterness. The result is a smoother, cleaner cup that's easier on the palate.

Do you warehouse coffee?

No. We don't believe in storing roasted coffee long-term. Your order triggers your roast.

That's how we preserve aroma, flavor integrity, and balance.

Do you provide roast dates on your packaging?

We don't stamp a roast date because your coffee is freshly roasted and fulfilled within 2 days of your order—so the freshness is built into the process, not just printed on the bag.

What we do include is a Best-by date (we recommend within 6 months) to encourage you to enjoy your coffee at its peak flavor. When your bag arrives, you can trust it's as fresh as it gets.

Is your coffee third-party tested?

Yes. Our coffee is third-party tested to ensure purity and quality—including screening for common contaminants like mycotoxins and heavy metals.

What's not in your cup matters.

Is your coffee good for espresso?

Absolutely. Many of our medium and dark profiles are developed specifically to perform beautifully as espresso—balanced extraction, structured body, and natural sweetness.

They're equally excellent for drip, French press, and pour-over.

Why is premium coffee priced higher than grocery brands?

Because the process is different.

  • Higher-quality beans (Specialty-grade)
  • Ethical sourcing
  • Smaller production lots
  • Intentional roast development
  • Third-party tested
  • Fresh-to-order fulfillment

When you break it down per cup, premium coffee is often under $1 per serving—with a dramatically better experience.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes. Our subscription option ensures your coffee arrives automatically at peak freshness—and subscribers enjoy built-in savings.

It's the simplest way to elevate your daily routine with clean, small batch peak flavor beans.
