It Started With a Single Cup

Costa Rica, 1995. One cup changed everything — vibrant, complex, alive with flavor in a way that nothing back home could match. What followed was three decades of searching: through stale supermarket bags, inconsistent premium brands, roast dates missing or a year old, and too many mornings ending in heartburn we'd just accepted as normal. That search became Crema Peaks. A brand built by coffee lovers who got tired of settling — and decided to do something about it.

The Why

Most of us have been programmed to the taste of commodity coffee — bulk, lower quality beans, over-roasted to mask defects (that dark char), sitting on shelves for months. We'd spend more on premium brands only to find frustrating inconsistencies. One bag exceptional, the next flat. And then there was the heartburn — that familiar burn after a few cups that we'd just accepted as part of the ritual. It turns out, that's what stale, over-roasted, low-quality coffee does to your body. High acidity, harsh compounds, beans that were never meant to be the star of the show. That recurring discomfort became one more reason we couldn't settle.

Building Crema Peaks meant finding partners who shared our uncompromising standards.
