Our Story
The Why
It started with a single cup in Costa Rica, 1995.
That trip opened my eyes to what coffee could be vibrant, complex, alive with flavor. But back home, finding that same quality proved nearly impossible over time. The specialty coffee market was filled with vague origins, stale beans sitting on shelves for months, and no guidance on how to actually taste the nuances that make great coffee worth seeking out.
We became consumers like most, spending premium prices on top brands, only to find frustrating inconsistencies. One bag would be exceptional, the next would fall flat. Roast dates were missing or months old, even many are at least a year old from the roast date. Most of us don't realize we've been programmed to the tastes of commodity coffee. Our palates haven't touched high qaulity coffees to understand the nuances/tasting notes and smoothness, etc.., that we should be experiencing. The gap was clear: access to truly fresh, traceable, premium-specialty grade coffee, and the knowledge to appreciate it was just difficult to find.
Decades later, and as our family grew, so did our interest in discovering better coffee agian. We decided to seek out small-batch roasters who shared our passion for quality and transparency; artisans who could tell you exactly where each bean came from and when it was roasted. We found them, tried their roasts and made the connection, and now we're excited to bring their roasting expertise along with our branded coffees directly to you.
Every bag from Crema Peaks is roasted to order, traceable to origin, and crafted to deliver the flavors that started this journey three decades ago.
That commitment to freshness and transparency isn't just our standard—it's the foundation and passion behind every cup. Here's how we bring it to life.
The Journey
Building Crema Peaks meant finding partners who shared our uncompromising standards.
Over the years we tasted coffee that didn't measure up, so we started searching ways to build relationships with small-batch roasters across the country, roasters who source directly from farms, understand terroir (it's a word), and treat roasting as a craft, not a commodity. Our partnerships are built on shared values: transparency, traceability, and a commitment to roasting only some of the best beans fresh to order.
Our role is quality guardian. We select the origins and the roast profiles they offer, and ensure every batch meets our standards before it carries the Crema Peaks name. From single-origin showcases to carefully crafted blends and premium ceremonial tea, every product reflects our desire for freshness and flavor integrity.
This isn't about scaling fast, it's about getting it right, every single time.
The Difference
Your coffee is roasted to order and ships within days, not weeks or months before. You'll see the roast best-by date on every bag because freshness isn't negotiable.
We tell you exactly where your coffee comes from, the region, the farm when possible, and the blend behind it. No vague "South American blend" labels here.
Light, medium, and dark roasts are crafted to bring out the best in each origin. We're not hiding defects under char, we're showcasing what makes each coffee unique.
From our espresso guides to tasting notes, we help you understand what you're drinking and how to get the most from it. Premium coffee deserves more than marketing, it deserves knowledge so it can truly be experinced as it's meant to be.
You get the precision and care of artisan roasting with the consistency and service of a brand you can trust.
